The Short Version
DateIdeas.com is a website that helps you plan dates. These terms explain the rules for using it.
If you use the site, you're agreeing to these terms.
If you don't agree, that's fine, but you shouldn't use the site.
Your Account
What We Do
We give you date ideas, venue recommendations, and tools to plan dates. Some features are free, some might cost money eventually.
Your Account
If you make an account, use real info and keep your password safe. You're responsible for:
- Keeping your password secure
- Everything that happens on your account
- Not sharing your login with others
Rules for Using the Site
If you post reviews, photos, or any other content on the site, you're responsible for making sure it's appropriate and legal.
When you post something: You're giving us permission to show it on the site. We might display your reviews, photos, etc. to other users.
Don't Do These Things
Pretty standard list:
- Post anything illegal, hateful, or harassing
- Pretend to be someone you're not
- Steal other people's content
- Try to hack the site or break things
- Harass other users
- Upload viruses or malware
Payments
If You Pay for Something
Some features might require payment. If you subscribe to something, it will renew automatically until you cancel.
You can cancel anytime from your account settings. The subscription stays active until the end of the billing period you already paid for.
Refunds
Generally, payments aren't refundable. That said, if something goes wrong on our end, reach out and we'll figure it out.
Our Stuff & Links to Other Sites
Our Content
The content, design, and features of DateIdeas belong to us. Don't copy our stuff or use our logo without asking.
Links to Other Sites
We link to restaurants, venues, and other sites. We're not responsible for what's on those sites or what happens when you visit them.
Privacy
We have a separate Privacy Policy that explains how we handle your data. Check that out too.
What We're Not Responsible For
No Guarantees
We do our best, but the site is provided "as is." We can't promise that:
- The site will always work perfectly
- All information will be 100% accurate (venues close, prices change, etc.)
- Your date will go well (that's on you)
Limits on Our Liability
We're not liable for things like lost profits, bad dates, or any other damages that come from using the site. This is standard legal language, but the point is: use the site at your own risk.
The Legal Bits
We Can Shut Down Accounts
If you break the rules, we can delete your account. No warnings required. Don't be a problem and you'll be fine.
California Law Applies
If there's ever a legal dispute, California law applies. Hopefully it never comes to that.
Disputes Go to Arbitration
If we have a disagreement that we can't resolve, it goes to arbitration instead of court. Small claims court is still an option for smaller issues.
We Might Update These Terms
If we make big changes to these terms, we'll try to give you at least 30 days notice. Keep using the site after changes means you accept them.
You Must Be 18+
The site is for adults. By using it, you're saying you're at least 18.
